THE GIRL IN THE MIRROR

Fair and beautiful she is,

Many say she is,

And she knows it too.

Full of brains she is,

Very bright and intelligent,

Many say she is,

And she knows it too.

Alas! Our beauty and brains is down,

But why?

She looks herself in the mirror and sighs,

But  why?

Many do not understand but she knows

Beauty and brains, once a fire

Is just now a flame,

She looks in the mirror,

And sees the past,

When she was once a sparkling fire,

What has happened? ,  beauty and brains.

Inside of her, she seems to search,

Trying to understand, yet so futile,

Why are things these way?

Sometimes she ends up in a corner,

Crying her heart out,

Asking questions from the unquestionable,

What has happened?
